Shipping to United States: Free

This is an amazing Women’s Wrist watch that was made Circa 1900 at the very latest. The craftsmanship of the Sterling Silver flowers and vines that emboss the case is just stunning! The face of this watch is easily readable and in very good condition for its age. This watch works beautifully with a wonderful loud TIC-TIC sounds when running, which I love. Please see instructions for use of this watch. It is a bit unusual…

• Size of the face is 21mm in diameter
• Size of the case is 27mm in diameter, measuring from the center of the watch face
• Size of the watch and band is 8 inches (select hole to size the band appropriately)
• Band is a Speidel Genuine Lizard black band
• Condition is Excellent – truly this watch is in amazing condition and it works well; I have had it running for 9 hours now and it just keeps ticking away
• Hallmark of “HUGUENIN” is found just below the number “5” of the watch face, but in the Silver Section of the watch

1. To wind the watch, move the crown in an upward motion. Please stop when you feel a bit of a tightening with the wind so as not to overwind it. I would stay between 20 and 30 winds ONLY.
2. To set the time is the unusual part. Just under the winder crown, push the button in, pop out the crown slightly and turn the crown in a downward motion. You will see the hands move in a clockwise motion. Continue turning the crown until you are able to select the correct time. I don’t think the hands move backwards, so if you go past your desired time, you will need to go around the 12 hours again to do a reset. Release the button and push in the crown to lock it. This is the only way that I have been able to work this watch, but whence set, it runs beautifully and keeps good time.

o For almost 150 years, our company has been creating exclusive and unique embossed products from the heart of Switzerland’s watch-making region. With the unrivalled quality of its designs and the special care taken during production, Huguenin soon became one of the most important artistic minting companies, with a broad international clientèle. The medal maker’s challenge is to create unique, artistic masterpieces that show appreciation for human achievements and serve as timeless witnesses to important events. To this day, all products – whether gold, silver, bronze or brass – are still made by hand in Le Locle.

o In 1868, the young engraver Fritz Huguenin and his brother Guillocheur Albert set up a small watch-case design workshop. It wasn’t long before they realised the value that embossing could add to their work. They therefore bought a spindle press, which they used to emboss their first medal in 1888.

o Over time, the Huguenin brothers specialised in the Niel method, which is used to give silver watches a black finish. This method made them famous worldwide and as a result of their new-found success, they switched from manual production to industrial production in 1899, building the factory in Le Locle that is still used today
